It’s been a while since I put this book down, slowly making it through the prose

Crap I’m starting to relate to Gogol :((
He perfectly encapsulates the eldest child’s experience as the first American in an Indian immigrant family, especially as he is in his twenties.

Gogol finally learns of the significance of his name, the author of the book that saved his father’s life. As someone with an Indian father, it is all too relatable to finally learn about something so tragic and profound that happened in his life, and wondering how it affected him all these years later, and if it ever defined your relationship with him. I’m gonna go hug my dad now.

Gogol is kinda getting on my nerves but lowkey I get it, as a fellow brown person with a bar that gets too many comments.
