The first chapter to the second chapter just took a whole 360 degree turn. Why do authors do this. If the first chapter does not mesh with the second then just rewrite it until it does. So you mean to tell me that Nate and Abby has known each other for 33 years and they are only now flirting in Chapter 2 likes it’s normal. Oh please.
