I loved social studies in high school. This book is bringing together all the tested terms and names together in a story that is helping me understand America better and, to be quite honest, bringing solace for the present quandary that is our nation and identity. I wasn’t savvy enough back then to tease out nuance and complexity, but now I’m seeing…so glad I picked this book back up.
