Finished The Body Snatcher. Not entirely sure what to think about it. It sounds pretty much like the preamble to The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Almost like a temperature check for Stevenson’s audience.

Finished Olalla. It took me FOREVER to get through this short story. The Comandante was the biggest Chad I’ve ever read about. He basically called the people housing him inbreds, brutes, and uncivilized the whole time he was there dying of TB. Here’s the kicker, he falls in love with the daughter of the house and tries to coerce her meanwhile she is a child and she literally tells him this. Ick x 1000

Finished Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Being alive in the 19th century and before sounds utterly exhausting. Being repressed would make anyone go crazy.

The forward and noted in this edition were crazy long, but I’m very glad I read them. The context they gave helped tremendously. I’m taking notes on this one as I go as well to help me analyze. So far, Enfield and Utterson are kind of sketchy and Hyde is diabolical.
