Not sure if my expectations were way too high on Penny's books but this is going way, way too slow... Almost done just because I still want to insist in Three Pines and due to the fact the ambiance is familiar to me (Québec), but apart from that, not having much fun to be honest. :(

My experience so far is mixed between joy and boredom. The crime finally gives the book direction. I enjoy Penny’s eye for human behavior, but sometimes the pacing is so slow it becomes slightly annoying.
The large cast also makes the narrative feel a bit diffuse at times.
In general, I'm enjoying more than the first book I thinik. The winter scenes in Québec atmosphere, which feels cozy and familiar are a plus.

Just like the first Penny’s book, this one is in a very slow pace, but I’m more used to it now and the story is catching more of my attention than in “Still Life”.
