Mmh. After spending half the night agonizing on a decision he didn’t want to make, Dream is freed from that obligation.

I don’t know how I feel about it. I think I just want to know the reason why.

Though, Loki did have an interesting outburst. Was it for his own situation or the bigger one?

I knew this was going to happen… I don’t understand the deeper meanings of what this story was trying to convey.
That ending left me confused.

I did like that Nada got a fresh start.

I also liked getting a check in to see what Lucifer was doing (exactly what he said he might).

Another issue that felt longer than necessary.

All parties try to either make a deal with or threaten Dream to hand over the key to Hell.

Dream gives them all the same answer, he will consider their offers and everyone will hear his answer… The next day.

Interesting to note, Odin created the world the JSA are trapped in!

I didn’t like this issue. It was disturbing from the get-go.

And sure, it showed us exactly what the consequences are now that Hell is closed.
I just cannot handle this kind of stuff. I’m weak!

Poor Rowland was bullied by ghosts and died.

Not sure what to make of the ending.
It’s not the typical ‘happy’ kind but Rowland can’t wait to see what else is out there with his friend Paine.

We see Odin freeing Loki from his torturous fate, wanting (and needing) his help.

To claim what many other deities would like as well.

Dream broods over what to do, while his sister deals with the consequences on Earth…

Initially unwilling, Dream is a gracious host to all those who have come to the Dreaming.

This felt longer than it needed to be. Though it was cool to see the various factions.

This must have been the inspiration for the CW Lucifer show!

Dream is ready for a fight and yet, there is no one in the realm of Hell!

Lucifer appears, to inform the Lord of Dreams that he has quit!

He has expelled everyone from the realm he was once King of and is to embark on a new path for himself.

A parting gift, Dream is given the key. The empty Hell is his now…

‘Procrastinated enough’ is right.
Gaiman likes words, a lot! He has so much to say. And it’s interesting, though it doesn't exactly move the plot along at more than a snail’s pace.

That art is great! I really love all the details.

Anyway, Lucifer is excited for the Lord of the Dreaming to return to his realm. This will be a day in Hell to remember!

After an encounter with the Grey Ladies, Destiny calls for a family meeting!

Destiny could not say why they needed to meet but says his siblings needed to be at that place at that time.

Desire provokes Dream, mentioning Nada.

Death and Dream talk and the Lord of the Dreaming is convinced to right a wrong.

With Dream’s decision to return to Hell, Destiny announces ‘It has begun.’

Both the Introduction and (especially) the Foreword were really singing Gaiman's praises.

No doubt he’s a good writer but with recent events, maybe I’m a bit more cynical.

Also, a disclaimer; I’m not a huge fan of stories that use a lot of symbolism and poetry.
