Wow. One of the worst and best spice scenes I have ever read. I really hated that.

Wow. One of the best villains speeches I have ever come across. This book should have been a 600 hundred page epic fantasy tail.

Wow. That father-son monologue almost made me cry. Owen’s relationship with his dad is probably one of the most interesting ones that I would love to learn more about and explore. But at the same time I see no way in which it furthers the plot. This book is a bunch of really great themes and scenes thrown together that sorely go along, unfortunately.

“And I knew in a sudden flush of heat that I could have you, if I wanted. And, Savior save me, I wanted.”
Oh. My. God.

“Your face was long and thin and sad. I thought you might have been beautiful once—fragile things are always a little beautiful—but somewhere along the way you’d been broken badly and poorly mended.” If this was the mmc describing the fmc this book would be called incredibly cringey. But because this is the fmc describing the mmc this is called a masterpiece. I just love broken men 😜🥀❤️

While the repeating time loop is annoying and my least favorite trope it does make character growth and change remarkably clear and well written.

I’m noticing a repeating pattern of Owen telling us he has PTSD yet it always feels brushed off and as though it’s an afterthought. It needs to be talked about more. Also side notes, if the author simply changed names and genders for the characters and NOTHING else the story would be the exact same.

I don’t know how to feel. But it’s definitely not happy.
