Someone tell me why the vampires keep fighting with their human captors but not killing them. Your unconstrained, significantly stronger and alone with them and you push them over and run or break an arm, etc. Kill the fuckers and get on with it. Why?

Ok, seriously, 'nut' for head, 'peepers' for eyes, and 'mush' for mouth is driving me crazy! Once or twice would be bad enough, but as the REPEATED norm it's nails-on-a-chalkboard every time I read it, which is a lot.
