Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World was not one of my favorite novels by Haruki Murakami. Because of that, I felt somewhat hesitant when I learned what this book was about.
However, I was pleasantly surprised. The story moved me deeply and held my attention from beginning to end.

What this novel does particularly well, in my opinion, is place greater emphasis on the human element.
