Everyone needs to read chapter 8 - even if you think I'm bonkers, find this stuff dry and boring, love or hate capitalism for nonspecific or specific reasons. Especially if you vote or teach school or have kids or participate in the economy. Parenti explains that Marx had a hope/prediction that didn't materialize and for that reason everyone ignores/derides his excellent critique of capitalism that all should study.
