This is going on hold for a bit. I’m behind because of the Olympics (poor Ilia, but Shun medalled!!!! Woohoo!!!” but I’m really not that invested in anything in this book and I’m supposed to be at this point after what went down. I can be reading something else.

Klune is missing the mark big time with this and it concerns me that he wrote this AFTER Cerulean because I have another of his books on my shelf. The banter between Victor, Rambo and Nurse Ratchet is unfunny and cringey. It’s also distracting from everything else. The target audience isn’t 11-year old boys so I don’t know where he’s coming from with all of that.

Man, I don’t know about this. Klune is trying very hard to be charming and endearing, but I’m getting secondhand embarrassment. Robots and penis jokes DO NOT MIX. I’m interested enough in Giovanni and whatever he was running from to keep reading, but I think the “characters” are going to annoy me. My first impression is that this book is gonna be…corny.
