I love it when the main character lies and inherits someone else's destiny (presumably). This is gonna be gooooooood. Obsessed with the image the author paints of the local sea deity - creepy and demanding and ancient.

This has been a great little read. While the pace has been slower (which is fine), I love the characters, and with what just happened, the pace is about to change. I wait patiently for the sea god to come back... I love a volatile, ancient freak like that. Also, love the dynamic tension of "will they, won't they" between Kensa and Jack eeeeek

The plot is moving somewhat slowly, but I think I like it? Right now I think its important for building on all the dynamics between the characters. Kensa is a very flawed main character, and I love her. Right now she's got a thing for Jack, the chubby mine labourer next door, and I love that for her
