I tried switching to audio but the sing-songy voice of the FMC made things worse. This is way too young feeling and the game show/spell setups are surprisingly dull. DNF

I hate wasting my $ like this and yet I keep doing it. I may take your advice and be done with it.
I have discovered KU and bookbub. From there a lot of authors offer newsletter freebies. Toss in the thrift store, library, libby and hoopla, there's very little to buy full price anymore. I don't like most more than 2-3 stars and I now buy after I have tried them or they're a regular author I read.
That’s a really smart approach. I’ve been having a struggle with so many new books lately.
