The more I study this war, the more I come to realize it was a conflict unlike any other. Fascists vs socialists, Hitler vs Stalin - the might of the right versus the might of the left. Fascism is the antithesis of all things. It is not a reactionary or revolutionary ideal; this is why it is so hard to categorize. We can thank the USSR - and the 27 million lives sacrificed - for preserving human dignity.
