All I've gotta say is the more Dostoyevsky you read, the more you love it. It's kind of like a trained muscle. You start to see the voices and collisions appear. The Dostoyevsky pattern is one that I know come to see foreshadowed, but I'm not mad at all because it unfolds so marvelously. The characters truly are so memorable!

Oh how thankful I am to be back! I absolutely love Dostoyevsky's style. I relish how interesting and thought out each character is, how complexly they are designed! And this one begins a bit differently: offering a sort of "backstory" introduction. I laughed out loud when Stepan is writing to Varvara from Berlin and when she reads it, the letter is covered in tears, literally. Mind you, they are friends alone, LOL.

Oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy! More Dostoyevsky! Been thoroughly preparing for this one. Definitely the least blind I’ve gone in for one of his works.
