I get why Splinter would be protective of Ash, considering what happened to Ash in the first book. And Splinter is Ash's loyal squire and protector. 💜

I can relate to Ash not wanting to be cooped up. I'm the same way. 😅

It's been a joy to read with hardly any perseverating thoughts. I'm grateful for that because the last several days have been a bitch for my anxiety. 😥

I'm too tired to finish this chapter. I'm emotionally exhausted. 😟

It's sad that Ash doesn't feel like the castle is her home.

Splinter's feelings about Anders and wanting to see him were written in such a relatable way.

This is the second fantasy book that I've read in which Briar is a boy's name. 🤔 Although, in the first Circle of Magic book, Briar chose his name. That wasn't his original name.

I'm curious to learn more about Splinter and Briar's dynamic. Right now he's ignoring her. 😵‍💫😟

It feels good to be immersed in this fictional world again. The first book was excellent!!

I'm glad that most of the squires aren't being cruel to Splinter anymore. That aspect of the first book was emotionally tough to read about.

I'm guessing that the prologue was from Ash's perspective, but I don't know for sure. 🤷‍♀️
