The actual aspects of Nigerian culture, the folk tales, etc., are way more interesting that the story of Okonkwo at this point. I find him to be extremely unlikeable, maybe a bit irredeemable. I understand that he’s a complex man w/ faults, and a leader in a patriarchal system and culture, etc., blah blah blah; I don’t care. You beat your wife and children bc you have daddy issues. I hope it gets better soon.

Fellas, don’t you hate it when you have to beat one of your three wives because she wasn’t home in time for your afternoon meal? Hate when that happens!
