The Raphael one shot has a bit of depth, introducing Raphael’s temper which will be another staple of the series. It also introduced Casey Jones, who has a good dynamic with Raphael.

The original TMNT comics are so good. It manages to be comical and silly, despite its grittiness and dark tone. The artistry is incredible and matches the vibe perfectly.
E&L were so creative with their villains. Shredder, Baxter Stockman, and the Utroms are designed so interestingly and make for such a fun read. It’s no wonder that all the characters in this early run become permanent staples of the lore.
