i haven’t read this book in a long time. i found this book at a goodwill, and as soon as i saw the cover, my heart fell to my chest—this was the book that inspired to starting speaking again the summer before high school.


i was a recluse mute for the better part of 7 ears; i didn’t even talk to my own mother. my 8th grade english teacher gave me this book and it changed my soul. i haven’t read it since.
