This book is absolutely hilarious omg 🤣

I was curious how far Schuyler would go in satirizing historical Black organizations. I wasn’t expecting him to be this bold. I often see shallow critiques where these institutions are either wholly dismissed or comfortably condoned. Schuyler is different because he isn’t pointing to one villain or one flaw. He’s exposing an entire ecosystem of culpability. This is satire done well, no one’s off the hook.

“At first efforts, were made to bulldoze and intimidate the depositors, but that didn’t succeed. These people were in no mood to be trifled with. A lifetime of being negroes in the United States had convinced them there was great advantage to being white.”

Racial order is economic stability. Money is power, and mobility is tightly contained.
