I think I'm putting this one down. Without being used to le Carrés writing, it just feels so incredibly incoherent and dense.
People online mention that you need to try to understand the thread underneath the conversations, but I don't want to keep that up for 400 pages. It's a sunken cost for me, and I'm not about to commit the fallacy.
