Already cried once - I'll definitely feel the weight of the topic going forward. It's oddly lyrical, even though some passages feel a bit as if someone else was recounting Laura's story - feels like storytelling. I like that the chapters are short, it made it easy to get into the story. I'm curious to know if I'll like that I only know the bare minimum going into this story

t to form an opinion. The somewhat supernatural aspect and the overall slightly hazy atmosphere of the story are absorbing - I can't get enough. Oh, on a side note, Laura is around 23, so that's nice. I actually thought she's older so I like that the reality of war (and the social bahaviours of the time) has a visible effect on her inner being.

I like how simple and yet telling the language is when it comes to the darkest aspects of the war. Some very profound quotes. The ghosts are slowly coming into play - and yet are they truly ghosts or merely haunting reminders? I am invested in both povs, I don't feel like rushing through either.
