I’ve been listening to the audiobook through Libby and holy god im an hour in and ive just reached chapter 2. so far, so good i suppose? not absolutely horrific (as ive heard from some) but not the holy grail (as ive heard from some). im thinking the emo blood rival is the main love interest or at least the one most rooted for. bear in mind, i have no prior knowledge or osmosis to really go off of for this.

6 hours, 42 minutes, 49 seconds of the 22 hour epub and im finally hooked 🥺 training arc only got interesting when she committed frfr and she only did that once boring not-mc dane got out of the picture. if i picked this up on the epub, i would have 310-ish pages to go... but i can read 310 pages faster than i can listen to *checks screen* 15 hours 20 minutes 6 seconds left of epub?!

Maybe its the audiobook but the repetition of already established facts and the timeline kind of cheapens out any suspense? Like we get it Violet is smart and analytical but there’s being smart and analytical and then theres repeating the same stuff over and over just for the sake of it, really. Also the swears in here sounds like school children just learning them for the first time.
