Just finished the Freud section:
Freud as theologian of original sin and religious self-deception. All too true of Christians, I including ourselves, family, and friends. Westphal draws this out now to condemn Christianity but point to Freud as a resource for diagnosing false/idolatrous conceptions of God made in our egoistic and inauthentic image.
