Imagine a secret government agency à la Men in Black, but instead of making people forget what they've seen, the agents have to take pills to remember, because the entities they encounter make you forget about their existence. Notes or pictures taken are indecipherable. Maybe you escape a monster that has killed a hundred people, but the second you make it out, you forget that it exists and go right back in again.
