About here I’ve given up on this being a sci-fi book. It could be taking place on earth stationary for all the setting matters. Only the boring bits are kept: politicking, gaming alliances, interpersonal intrigue. Nothing interesting. It’s a gen ship: all we know is 18k ppl, 250 yr journey, it’s big, apparently rotating rings for gravity, mandatory death @ 75. But everyone has 7 gens of relations b/f them…

…but nothing about that, family relations, how kids allocated w/mand life length or those gens born & died on ship—that would be place for revolution I would think—comm w/earth & almost no sci or space-ness even so can’t call sci-fi. So incredibly disappointing & waste of a premise. Or setting I should say. Premise is dumb: why hold back info on planet when it’s good just list a probe or two? Unclear…
