Reading this because I found a church that is authentic and human and loves everyone without posturing or judging or performing. To quote the book " I guess if I was going to be Episcopalian I was going to be eating at tables with sinners. (Sigh) Thank God." So I need to now figure out what being an Episcopalian is all about.

" religion and politics are some of the many ways we try to contain and control God." That feels true. We as humans always try to put something wild and uncontainable into little boxes. Little boxes we control. Little boxes We have a say over, we protect, and we say who is in and who is out. God doesn't stay in your constructs.
