Not what I expected of this book, in a good way. I knew for years about this book and how it looked at other cultures parenting styles and thought it would be outrageous and exceedingly outside the norm. So far, it’s more about emotional regulation and the expectations we hold on children, for better or worse. I’m surprised by the amount of applicable takeaways I’ve had.
