I'm so sorry about wolf man. He is a really great character. I hope, though don't really think, that he actually lives somehow and is in the next book. Loved the setting of this book. The culture was perfect as well. Things weren't rushed and had a perfect timeline.

It would be really cool if once they escape, they seek refuge with the cat clan.

Ahh, question answered. A premonition allowed the father to find her.

How did Wren know she was from the Xia clan? If she was only one when her adoptive father found her, how did she know about it? I suppose he told her about it? Not sure about this.
