I just finished Part 3 / Chapter 10. So far, this book feels like a strong reference for understanding world history, particularly the origins and development of ancient civilizations.
At a high level, Part 1 discusses the origins of human life, including Neanderthals, and explores early human migration patterns. It explains how humans spread across different regions of the world over thousands of years.

This chapter 1 was interesting, really just setting up the remainder of the story talking about the evolution of man, origins of where first evidence of humans are found, and how we began to establish civilizations across the main 5 continents during/post glacial times ice ages era.

Part 2 focuses heavily on the rise of food production. It explains how agriculture began, why certain regions developed farming earlier than others, and why different civilizations ended up with the specific crops and domesticated animals they did.
