427 pages in, the plot finally seems to be moving. Before, there were too many descriptions of people, too detailed for me to care. I was wondering "this will become important when...?"
I am still missing an explanation what makes everyone like Jude. So far, he's only been characterized as somebody who is pitied. What makes other people like and befriend him? What's the story there? I hope section V will explain.
