yeeey i wanna read this too ^-^ lmk how it is

it's actually fantastic and i highly recommend it + it's a really light read style-wise

the title metaphor got me into it - aliens just had a picnic on their way to somewhere else, not even realizing anything lives there, and left trash behind which to the bugs and mice (humans) coming back out the next morning is baffling and has strange effects. still the book does not look down on humans, as the foreword (by a brilliant sf author) put it, it portrays people neutrally and compassionately, casually but profoundly and in a raw way. i like it a lot so far
