Hearing someone analyze the book of Job through the lens that complaint is valid prayer and it's understandable and good, even, to be angry at God healed something in me, I think? Realizing that the Baptist church of my childhood twisted every Bible story to be about quiet obedience to authority, but not every person of faith sees it that way??

Reading Cox's discussion of Genesis and its multiple authors was reassuring, since I hadn't read it since childhood (and back then I noped out after Noah's Ark), and as an adult have found it to be jumbled, weird, and full of horrible people. Turns out that is IS jumbled, weird, and full of horrible people.
