I hate when I'm 3 pages into a book and love it so much I start recommending it to everyone I know then on p. 5 out of nowhere it gets extremely dirty/racist/or just uses prepositions way too liberally for me to recommend to people who appreciate high quality writing, then I have to backtrack all my recs. It's like the book person's equivalent of the walk if shame
