I low-key had a moral dilemma
The creator of the show is getting criticized for killing children for entertainment which at a first glance I thought so too. But he DOES point out that said show would not exist if these kids weren’t ALREADY on death row. The government has already figuratively killed them by sentencing them.

the book is indirectly pointing out that you can pay your way out of crime - and that the goal of our justice system is ironically NOT justice but profit.
