The lack of emotion really is the most intriguing part. Lionel’s writing style, and the way he remembers the events prove that he really does lack emotion. I also find it interesting that he talked about Jeff’s borderline personality disorder, writing what causes it, without mentioning the biggest connection of the disorder with his life- abandonment. These are things I can’t stop thinking about while reading

Starting to become much more interesting at this point. It has become clear that there were many concerning issues with Jeff’s personality, that seem to have stemmed from the family dynamic that Lionel carefully analyzes and writes about in plenty of detail.

It is interesting. Lionel is starting to get repetitive, saying the same things in multiple ways, but I totally get it because of the situation that sparked his urge to write. It is also a bit difficult to stay engaged because he is so “analytical” and doesn’t understand emotion very well, which he states many times. While it lacks emotion, it does offer a peek at Lionel’s intelligence through his writing
