The writing in this is beautiful, and I think the exploration of the black body and discussion of masculinity without naming it such is really great.
However, I’m just not one for literary fiction, it’s a me problem, and I need to stop trying because I never truly get something out of books like this. Books that are so well written and really pretty, I’m just not intelligent enough.
