I'm doing this little update at the end of the third chapter, and I'll probably do a few more as I finish each chapter. We're starting to see some action, which I think is fantastic. Another thing I loved was when Aubrey tells us about his two encounters with Lord Nelson. I loved that scene!

What an intense chapter! An absolutely epic battle and a few tragedies – I can’t wait to finish the book, but at the same time I don’t want it to end. One thing I’d like to mention is that, as a Spaniard, I find the name of the Spanish ship ‘Cacafuego’ quite funny. And I find it even funnier that this ship actually existed and served Spain. I know full well that I said I’d post little updates about the book for every chapter I read, but given how busy I’ve been these past few months, it’s been completely impossible! I’ve only got two chapters left to finish this wonderful book, and to be honest, I don’t want it to end! I’ve also managed to get my sister to start reading it after showing her the film, so now I’ve got someone to talk to about this book.

Chapter 5, finished.
A rather interesting chapter, to be honest, with the first half and a bit more about how the crew makes loot and the second half being a very interesting and long-awaited conversation between Maturin and Dillon. Very nice.

Now that's what I call action! Chapter 5 is so wonderful.
To be honest, I think I'm going to spend the whole book saying that each chapter is more wonderful than the last. I'm really loving this book!
And that final sentence by James Dillon is simply beautiful.
