Episode 2: Part 3 is now my favourite part of the book so far (only bit I love more is the short ode to ALP). I'm not sure if it was just easier than the rest or I'm finally starting to see the forest for the trees, but it was fantastic fun. From the Old Testament merging into New, to the Invincibles' haka and Irish ballads, to that indelicate death of the Russian general, every single bit of it was a blast!

Apparently, Joyce was a rugby fan. So much so, he included the 1925 NZ team's Haka in the Wake.

HCE eloped with ALP... aaaagain... Gods, this chapter is such a breath of fresh air after the last one. 70 pages until Book III but I'm officially half way through! Woohoo!!!
