...and she makes terrible choices on so many levels. Is she supposed to be sympathetic or likeable??

Well I'm still here. She's annoying but the plot is enough to keep me hanging in here. Less than two hours to whodunnit howdunnit

Seriously considering DNF and the 3.5 rating makes me think I'm right. This character makes enough questionable choices to make this book stressful, and her character flaws make her too unlikeable for me to be invested and overlook her behavior. Yeah, I'm curious what happened. But I'm not enjoying the ride.
