A lot of the European colonization efforts can be largely attributed to the Eurasian germs that they brought with them to the new lands / new world that derived from the large population of animals that they domesticated

I just finished Part 3 / Chapter 10. So far, this book feels like a strong reference for understanding world history, particularly the origins and development of ancient civilizations.

At a high level, Part 1 discusses the origins of human life, including Neanderthals, and explores early human migration patterns. It explains how humans spread across different regions of the world over thousands of years.
