Going to dnf this one. This book feels very YA but the characters were aged up for the sake of it because their personalities do not reflect that of adults. Not for me, but I’m very thankful for the arc.

While I love reading about “older” characters in fantasy books (the main characters are in their 30s & 40s) aging up the characters doesn’t mean anything if they still act like teenagers. I do wonder if this book was originally going to lean more YA but small details were later changed for a different audience. 🧐
