I really developed a soft spot for z, I definitely empathized with him in a way I don’t find myself doing for most characters in the pnrs I read, these series have a depth and gravity to them that at times, I wish wasn’t there but appreciate esp in z’s story. also his “becoming softer” arc didn’t feel very genuine, i think maybe it felt rushed? but i enjoyed it all the same. phury :( hope he finds one

almost done but wanted to say that the love between z and phury is so precious and I’d rather read about that a million times over rather than z and Bella. I think with z’s past, I expected a much slower start to him being vulnerable and just slower growth, that would’ve made for a longer book but it almost seemed unrealistic for him to be open to intimacy that quickly but again I can’t argue against it

I liked that we met z in the second book but I always feel so deeply uncomfortable reading about people with the kind of pasts he has. the way she writes about his hatred of himself and the rage and anger he has with his past feels almost palpable. again I hope the writing isn’t as corny as the other book but I’m ready to dive in, I like Bella and im sad at the thought of how much she’ll have to prove her love
