I used to try to read this book once a year. In my 20s it took a weekend. In my 60s I’m savoring it more, trying not to race through to the parts that make my heart race and get the adrenaline flowing. And being that it is now post COVID, I’m amazed at how much more familiar and relevant the tale is. How could Stephen write a story in the 70s that hits so close to home in 2026?
