and so continues the trend of me reading books that push me farther into a pessimistic/apathetic point of view on human nature and instinct, which seems to be at all times regardless of culture or time period, to be driven to take from our environments without pause to consider the effects, until it is essentially too late to reverse it. but i haven’t finished it yet so who knows!
