The book is mostly the story of the interaction between the Chesters and Hopkinsons (misunderstandings turning into friendship) and the Sampsons’ attempts to climb socially and financially.

There are two books in this volume. I just finished the first book, called The Semi-attached Couple. I am giving it 4 1/2 stars. If you love Jane Austin’s style of writing, you will really enjoy this novel. Lots of wit and sarcasm is included for your enjoyment. The cast of characters are something to behold! 😆
