Three stars is almost obscenely too high a rating it deserves with the amount of absolute shit I had to slog through
even skim reading

Now I’m too curious not to read book two

And then who knows when the fuck the rest of this series will be out

Any character with that name has yet to fail with me
I thought this dorks scenes were adorable
Even as I don’t half understand all these mmcs interest in the fmc and vice versa most of the time

Char was def more obnoxious and dense
Supposedly a tech genius
But she was mainly a fucking moron and I hated her

Surprisingly I did get my wish granted here
Gold cross or whatever his name
Callum
Had at least one good scene
In the ring when he’s mad she’s using magic(she wasn’t) bc he says no one looks that good without magic

Cute

So the writing continues to be shit
I’ve long since accepted this from the author

But
This book was better than any from the arcane mage series

Blair isn’t nearly as fucking annoying as what’s her face

That’s not to say that Blair was often annoying af too

so as a general rule
from experience
prologues fucking suck

theyre rarely done well

and this author is no different
not a standout

so it’s already setting the tone for what this series will prob be

we already know blair has her dick appointments she always mentions

but concluding the prologue with a sex scene is so tacky to me

bc it’s very unlikely in these times of genres and shit authors and writers that their writing actually improves over time and experience

but
i live in hope
as small and minuscule as it may be

oh and the main reason im forcing myself to read this is not just my annoying curiosity and need to know

i’m wondering how these mmcs will be compared to the other series

if blair turns out to have the same voice as that idiot char.

she was a badass
and written to seem like a badass
and everyone kept saying she was a badass in the other series

i have doubts for her own damn series..
