There is more insight and maturity in the first chapter of this CHILDREN'S book, with a 13-year-old protagonist, than in the entire text of The Hollow Places (MCs 34 and 41).

It's like a mini-Darkover, or George R.R. Martin, or ... I dont know but there is Weight and Heft to it. It's got something to say. Not ... lite.
