This is feeling a lot like a Baxter Family installment from Karen Kingsbury. I have to keep reminding myself it’s Francine Rivers. I like the way she is delving into how each character is handling the situation. Undoubtedly everyone could find themselves in the mind space of someone in this book.

Wow - one chapter in and it’s already very intense. Also noticing a lot of sign posts for how I think the story is going to turn out. I can tell this is going to be another tough read from Francine, but I trust her to redeem it. Planning to have tissues on standby.
