the other books were a bit of a blur but there's definitely an improvement in the writing. that or i just have more emotional attachment to this pairing bc i can only keep envisioning what season 2 will look like. there's a lot of beautiful moments here. & such sad ones too. i can see why ilya's the clear favourite but poor shane for being kept in the dark and having so many big moments glossed over.
